DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Matthias Roeger (TU Dortmund)\n\nBiomembranes form t
he outer boundary of cells and define distinct internal compartments. Curv
ature energies of Canham-Helfrich type play a central role in understandin
g membrane mechanics and present intriguing challenges for mathematical an
alysis. In this talk we present joint work with Fabian Rupp (Vienna) on th
e minimization of a reduced Canham-Helfrich energy among closed surfaces c
onfined within a prescribed container. We establish an existence result in
a class of immersed bubble trees\, derive the corresponding Euler–Lagra
nge equation\, and investigate regularity properties of minimizers.\n \n\
