DESCRIPTION:In a recent joint work of the speaker with Jean-François Dat\
 , we show how to decompose the category of \\barZ[1/p]-representations of 
 a p-adic group into blocks and prove that each block is equivalent to a de
 pth-zero block\, under some assumptions. This talk will provide an overvie
 w of the work and sketch the content of a learning seminar that will take 
 places on Thursdays at 2:15pm at the University\, room N0.007\, starting 1
 6 April. In the learning seminar we will try to get a more in depth unders
 tanding of the preprint. It will also include of a range of background tal
