Description

I will explain how the log-polyhomogeneous functions can be characterised as the approximate generalised eigenfunctions of the generator of the zoom automorphism on the tangent groupoid. This leads to some pleasing expressions for the canonical trace and the residue and has some applications to spectral theory.
