Reading group on spectral geometry

Using the two expressions for the trace of an integral operator from the previous talk, we obtain the Selberg trace formula. We then present several applications to counting: lattice point counting in the hyperbolic plane, Prime Number Theorem for compact hyperbolic surfaces (asymptotics for the count of closed geodesics of length at most L), and its version with error terms.
