Description
Oberseminar Topolgie/Miniseries "Floer homotopy theory"
There has been recent interest in incorporating methods from homotopy into symplectic topology and Floer theory. We will survey some of these ideas, including Abouzaid-Blumberg's manifold-theoretic construction of the stable homotopy category, the relationship to equivariant transversality problems, and some applications.
Talk III:
I will discuss the `bubbling' phenomenon in Floer theory, including why this prevents the construction of smooth moduli spaces in Floer theory. I will discuss the failure of equivariant transversality, and how chromatic homotopy theory can help us to bypass this.
