DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Andrea Ronnau\, Rabea Steinbach (HCM)\n\n\nJoint equ
idistribution problems naturally arise in number theory\, for example when
studying properties of arithmetic objects beyond uniform distribution. On
e prominent example is the mixing conjecture formulated by Michel and Venk
atesh in their 2006 ICM address on sparse equidistribution problems. This
conjecture has seen much progress recently and there are two (different) c
onditional proofs available now.In this Special Topic School we will explo
re the interplay between tools from number theory and dynamical systems in
the context of the mixing conjecture and beyond. The topics of the mini c
ourses will cover both approaches and are tailored to give the participant
s a high level introduction to contemporary methods that are involved in t
he study of joint equidistribution problems.\nThe deadline for the applica
tion for participation has expired.\nLecture series by:\n\nMenny Aka (ETH
Zurich)\nValentin Blomer (University of Bonn)\nFarrell Brumley (Universit
é Sorbonne Paris Nord)\nManfred Einsiedler (ETH Zurich)\nMin Lee (Univers
ity of Bristol)\n\nAdditional talks by:\n\nClaire Burrin (UZH)\nJasmin Mat
 z (University of Copenhagen)\n\nScientific Organizers:\n\nEdgar Assing (Un
iversity of Bonn)\nPhilippe Michel (EPFL)\nAsbjørn Nordentoft (Universit
