DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Boris Vertman (Uni Oldenburg)\n\nMelrose’s geometr
ic microlocal analysis involves the concept of blowing up\nsubmanifolds to
resolve non-uniform operator kernel behaviour. This technique has\nbeen c
entral to the analysis of singular spaces\, but was previously disconnecte
d\nfrom discrete geometry. We introduce a new framework that applies Melro
ses's blowup\ntechniques to scaling limits of discrete surfaces to study t
he discrete heat kernel\nas the discretization mesh size goes to zero. Thi
s proves a full asymptotics of the\ndeterminant on discrete surfaces beyon
d the example of regular lattices that has\nbeen the best possible result
 so far.\n\nhttps://math-events.uni-bonn.de/event/1426/
