DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Johanna Knelsen\n\n\nIn recent previous years there 
 have been several outstanding results in understanding the arithmetic stat
 istics of algebraic ranks or rational points of families of abelian variet
 ies. These results utilize a wealth of different and independent methods i
 ncluding geometry of numbers\, lattice point counting results\, additive c
 ombinatorics\, sieve methods\, geometry of Hurwitz spaces\, and random mat
 rix models. These developments call for opportunities to actively exchange
  these different insights and tools among researchers and young mathematic
 ians who are potentially interested in this field. The special topics scho
 ol on “Recent developments on arithmetic statistics of rational points o
 n abelian varieties and curves” will encompass representatives of some l
 eading researchers in arithmetic statistics\, so that new exchange of idea
 s\, collaborations\, and outreach opportunities to future young mathematic
 ians can be facilitated and fostered. Some tentative topics to be covered 
 in the special topics school include lattice point counting techniques and
  their applications\, twist families of abelian varieties over number fiel
 ds\, and geometric arithmetic statistics over global function fields. Exer
 cise sessions will be provided to participants\, where they can better und
 erstand the topics from the courses through carefully chosen problem sets 
 provided by the lecturers.\nThe deadline for the application for participa
 tion is January 31\, 2027.\nOur Global Mobility Fellowships provide partic
 ipation opportunities for selected researchers and PhD students from count
 ries of the Global South in the Special Topic Schools of the Hausdorff Sch
