DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Johanna Knelsen\n\n\nIn recent years\, \nthe interac
tion between algebraic geometry and geometric group theory has developed
rapidly\, with ideas\, \nmethods\, and questions from each field coming t
ogether and opening up new research directions.\n \nThe Special Topic Sch
ool on \n"Interactions between algebraic geometry and geometric group theo
ry"\nwill cover central topics such as the topology of Kähler groups\, \n
and the behaviour and dynamics of groups of automorphisms and birational
transformations of algebraic varieties. \nIt will feature three mini-cours
es and several contributed talks by leading experts in the field.\n \nOur
primary goal is to help early-career mathematicians learn the core\ntechn
iques of both fields\, making it easier for them to collaborate and\ncondu
ct cross-disciplinary research. Young participants will also have the\nopp
ortunity to present their work in lightning talks and in a poster\nsession
.\n \nThe deadline for the application for participation is October 26\,
2026.\nOur Global Mobility Fellowships provide participation opportunitie
s for selected researchers and PhD students from countries of the Global S
outh in the Special Topic Schools of the Hausdorff School for Mathematics.
