We will begin by recalling some examples on different areas of math where algebraic K-theory gives important insight, and why we care about hermitian forms. With that in mind, we will revisit the notion of genuine duality, and generalize it to infinity categories---which is an important character for one of the two existing infinity frameworks for hermitian/real algebraic K-theory. This is based on joint work with Hadrian Heine and Markus Spitzweck.
