DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Oliver Fürst (Mathematisches Institut)\n\nFor a fam
 ily $A(t)$\, $t\\in\\mathbb{R}$\, of self-adjoint operators\nin Hilbert sp
ace $H$ we consider the perturbed differential operator\n$D=\\partial_{t}+
A(t)$ acting in L^2(\\mathbb{R}\,H)$. This so called\nRobbin-Salamon type
operator has been prominently studied in the context\nof the Atiyah-Patodi
-Singer index theorem and led to the invention of the\nspectral flow of a
Fredholm family of operators.\nIn this talk we will present a new result b
eyond the Fredholm case. We\nwill show that a wide range of useful example
s for the family $A$ are now\namenable\, among which are perturbed fractio
nal Laplacians\, certain\nsymmetric hyperbolic systems and conformal famil
ies of Dirac operators. This is joint work with Jilly Kevo (IAM Bonn)\n\nht
