DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Kalina Petrova\n\nIn this talk\, I will discuss some
of my work in probabilistic and extremal combinatorics\, focusing on prob
lems in Ramsey theory and design theory. A major theme will be the role of
random graphs\, both as a source of intuition and as a tool for construct
ing and analysing combinatorial structures. I will illustrate these ideas
through several results on size-Ramsey numbers and Latin squares. I will a
lso discuss settings where deterministic methods play a central role.\n\nh
