DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Wadim Zudilin\n\nWebsite\nI will explain a simple ma
thematical model for understanding major and minor chords by triangulating
the plane\, which has its roots in Euler's writings on music theory from
1739. In the past decades\, this model has received renewed attention in m
usic theory\, as it has proven surprisingly useful for analyzing the harmo
nic practice of composers in the Romantic period (19th and early 20th cent
ury). We will see some examples of the model in action.\nWith musical cont
ributions by the following artists:\n\nLory Aintablian (piano)\nRicardo Ca
nesin (piano)\nRemy van Dobben de Bruyn (vocals) \nSun Woo Park (piano)\nI
 sabel Rendell (saxophone)\nLola Thompson (vocals)\n\n\nhttps://math-events
