DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Kanami Ueda\, Emma Seggewiss (HCM)\n\n\nThe communit
y around geometric statistics – its theory\, application\, and computati
on – is growing both in numbers and in breadth.  This ranges from incre
asing interaction with related research communities such as manifold stati
stics\, topological data analysis\, and geometric machine learning to fert
ilization of the applied sciences such as biostructure and biomedical mode
ling and imaging. \nThis dual trimester program will foster and expand in
teractions among the above disciplines within the mathematical sciences.
The focus will be on the following six topics:\n\nGeometric structure of
data objects and suitable spaces\,\nStochastic analysis on manifolds and
 singular spaces\,\nStatistical behavior and geometry\,\nApplied topology\,
\nNon-Euclidean learning\,\nComputational methods for all of the topics li
sted above.\n\n>>Link to Trimester Program website<<\nScientific Organizer

 y of Warwick)\nStephan Huckemann (University of Göttingen)\nEzra Miller (
Duke University)\nYvo Pokern (University College London)\nWilderich Tuschm
ann (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)\nZhigang Yao (National University
of Singapore)\n\nTrimester Program Events:\nEach week of the Trimester Pro
gram includes numerous activities\, such as a seminar series\, lecture ser
ies\, reading courses and so on. In addition\, there are some major events
\, three workshops and one summer school. The workshops are aimed at peopl
e who are participants in the Trimester Program at that time. It is not po
ssible to apply only for these workshops. The Summer School is aimed at ea
rly-career researchers\, especially PhD students and postdocs. There is a
separate application platform for this event\, which can be found on the S
chool's event page.\n\nIntroductory School: Geometric Statistics (Sept. 14
  – 18)\nWorkshop I: Stochastic Analysis\, Statistics\, and Computation o
 n Manifolds and Singular Spaces (Oct. 12 – 16)\nWorkshop II: Geometry\,
Topology\, and Learning on Smooth and Singular Spaces (Nov. 9 - 13)\nConfe
rence: Interactions of Statistics and Geometry III [ISAG III] (Dec. 7 –
 11)\n\n\nhttps://math-events.uni-bonn.de/event/397/
