DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Helge Holden (NTNU\, Norway)\n\nAbstract:\nCompactne
ss in Lebesgue spaces is fully characterized by the classical Kolomogorov
–Riesz theorem. We present how this theorem and the classical Arzelà–A
scoli theorem can be derived from a very elementary lemma. Furthermore\, w
e show that one of the conditions of the Kolomogorov–Riesz theorem is re
dundant. Finally\, we discuss how we can derive the Aubin–Lions–Dubin
skii theorem  on compactness in Bochner spaces in this setting.\nWebsite
