DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Josh Lam\n\nOne central aspect of algebraic geometry
is that the cohomologyof algebraic varieties admit many extra structures
as compared with thatof\, say\, topological spaces. I will discuss some of
these structures in thesetting of "non-abelian cohomology"\, as pioneered
by Simpson\, and the newfeatures that arise\; we'll see that they are clo
sely related to classicalquestions about differential equations such as th
e Schlesinger system. Inparticular\, I'll talk about the proof of a conjec
 ture ofEkedahl--Shepherd-Barron--Taylor's and Bost's in many new cases\, w
hich isabout the p-curvatures of differential equations such as Schlesinge
r's.This is joint work with Daniel Litt\, following ideas of Kisin\, Menzi
 es\, andPapaioannou.\n\nhttps://math-events.uni-bonn.de/event/781/
