DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Jan Bohr\n\nThe Radon transform in the plane encodes
the integrals of a function along all lines. Inverting the Radon transfor
m is an instance of an inverse problem\, where some unknown object is to b
e recovered from indirect measurements. As a warm-up\, I will discuss some
very classical reconstruction procedures in the plane (used e.g. in compu
ted tomography) and an instance of invisibility\, when the plane is replac
ed by a sphere. We will then consider a non-linear version of this transfo
rm\, where the questions of reconstruction and invisibility are a lot tric
kier and some of the basic questions have only been answered fairly recent
