DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Shao Liu\n\nIn this talk\, I will first present rece
nt development in the well-posedness theory for singular stochastic nonlin
ear wave equations (SNLW) forced by space-time white noise on the two-dime
nsional torus. These results build on the work by Gubinelli-Koch-Oh (2018)
and GKO-Tolomeo (2022). One of the main difficulties of this problem come
s from the roughness of the white noise.\n I will then briefly discuss
the hyperbolic O(N) linear sigma model on the two-dimensional torus\, name
ly\, a coupled system of N interacting SNLW with cubic nonlinearities. By
adapting the methods developed for SNLW\, we establish well-posedness of t
he hyperbolic O(N) linear sigma model.\nFurthermore\, we prove that this m
odel converges to the mean-field SNLW as N tends to infinity. This part of
the talk is based on a joint work with Ruoyuan Liu (University of Bonn) a
nd Tadahiro Oh (University of Edinburgh).\n \n\nhttps://math-events.uni-b
