DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Andrea Ronnau (HCM)\n\n\nTensor categories are a fun
damental concept in modern representation theory\, with deep connections t
o representations of finite and algebraic groups\, commutative algebra\, a
 lgebraic geometry\, low-dimensional topology\, mathematical physics\, cate
gorification\, and higher categories. In recent years\, several astonishin
g discoveries have been made and new research directions have opened up\,
 including:\n \n-- generalized Verlinde categories\, incompressible tensor
categories\,-- tensor categories constructed from pro-oligomorphic groups
\, discrete tensor categories\,-- fusion categories\, modular tensor categ
ories\, categories arising from vertex operator algebras\,-- Lie theory\,
commutative algebra\, algebraic geometry in tensor categories.\nThe goal o
f this workshop is to bring together leading experts and early-career rese
archers working in the field\, discuss and spread recent ideas\, and facil
 itate collaborations.\n \n Speakers:\n\nNicolás Andruskiewitsch (Nation
