DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Malte Leimbach (MPIM Bonn)\n\nIn recent years\, peop
le have considered ways to study noncommutativegeometry in settings of tru
ncated spectral data. One approach to thiswhich was put forward by Connes-
-van Suijlekom emphasizes operatorsystems over C*-algebras. Despite lackin
g multiplication\, operatorsystems exhibit rich structure. Moreover\, they
are well-suited formodeling compact quantum metric spaces. This allows to
rigorously posequestions about convergence of spectral truncations\, some
of the answersto which will be outlined. Parts of this talk are based on
joint workwith Walter van Suijlekom as well as on joint work in progress w
ithEvgenios Kakariadis\, Ivan Todorov and Walter van Suijlekom.\n\nhttps:/
