 Is). This is relevant for asymptotic  expansions of\nthe spectral action a
 nd the heat trace\, and simplifies  proofs of the local index\nformula amo
 ngst others. This requires adapting  the construction of MOIs to an\nabstr
 act pseudodifferential calculus  developed by Connes–Moscovici\, Higson 
 and\nGuillemin. With this \nmachinery\, many commonly used expansions in N
 CG can be boiled down to  combinations\nof just two simple MOI identities.
