DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Yuezhao Li (Uni Leiden)\n\nTerry Loring and Hermann
Schulz-Baldes have introduced thespectral localiser as a means to compute
the index pairing between aK-theory class and a spectral triple. The spect
ral localiser is afinite-dimensional\, invertible matrix that is supported
on a finitespectral subspace of the spectral triple. In the odd case\, we
interpret thespectral localiser as an index pairing in E-theory. Namely\,
the image of anodd K-theory class under the asymptotic morphism generated
by an oddspectral triple.  This allows for speaking of spectral truncati
ons of indexpairings in the framework of bivariant K-theory. This is based
  on jointwork with Bram Mesland.\n\nhttps://math-events.uni-bonn.de/event/
