DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Charlotte Dietze\n\nFirst\, we introduce the classic
al Weyl law\, which describes the eigenvalue asymptotics of a Laplacian. I
n the remainder of the talk\, I present joint works with Yves Colin de Ver
dière\, Maarten de Hoop and Emmanuel Trélat\, and with Larry Read. We pr
ove eigenvalue asymptotics and concentration of eigenfunctions of the Lapl
ace-Beltrami operator for certain singular Riemannian metrics. This is mot
ivated by the study of propagation of soundwaves in gas planets. \n\nhttps
