DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Liza Schonlau (University of Bonn)\n\nAfrican-Europe
an Early-Career Network for Mathematical Analysis and Related Fields (AEEN
-MA)\nThis is a new project which launched in 2025.\nThe goal is to connec
t young researchers from Africa and Europe who are working on problems rel
ated to mathematical Analysis. At the core of the network is a monthly onl
ine meeting where participants can present their research and engage in pe
rsonal exchange. The philosophy is that each participant can actively shap
e the networks content and development. By providing an easy-accessible pl
atform to young mathematicians from Africa and Europe we hope to foster ne
w collaborations and broaden the horizon of young researchers.\nNext Meeti
 ng: 10.04.2026 17:00-19:00 CET\nHow the online Sessions are structured\nEa
ch session is up to two hours long: the first 1.5 hours are reserved for m
ath-related talks\, the last 30 minutes are open for participants to share
their personal interests and engage in conversation. The presentation slo
 ts are between 15 and 45 minutes long.\nMath-related talks (30/45 min + 5/
10 min for questions):\nHere you can present your own research. You are no
t limited to presenting only published results\, you may also discuss a (y
et) unsolved problem or teach us about a mathematical tool from your field
. Please keep the presentation at a basic level so that people with differ
ent math backgrounds can also learn something.\nNon-math-related talks (15
 /25 min):\nYou are invited to present the traditions\, food\, languages\,
and so on\, of your country. You may also present a special hobby of yours
or general trivia on a topic that interests you.\nWhat exactly you choose
to talk about is up to you\; we encourage you to be creative!\nHow can I
become part of the network?\nIf you are interested in joining\, we kindly
ask you to register on this website. As a registered participant you will
be invited to our monthly online sessions and have access to the contact i
nformation of all other members.\nIf you would like to contribute a talk w
ithin the next six sessions\, please register as a speaker (this is possib
le until the 21.12.25)\, else please register as a participant. If you mis
sed the first deadline or are not sure yet if you want to contribute somet
hing: don't worry\, you will have another chance to sign up as a speaker a
t a later time.\nTo allow the network to grow gradually over time\, we pur
sue a “by-invitation open door” model\, that is\, each member can invi
te one colleague or friend per session who might be interested in joining.
 \n\nIn a nutshell\nWho can participate? \nAny early-career researcher in m
athematical analysis or related fields (maxim um 10 years past PhD and no
permanent position) \nWhat are the prerequisites? \nYou need a computer w
ith working camera and sound.\nHow can I participate? \nBy registering on
this website or asking a colleague who is part of the network to invite yo
u!\nDates and times of the online Meetings. \nEvery second Friday of the m
onth from 17:00-19:00 CET. Next Meeting: 13.03.26\nRegistration deadline.
\nIf you want to give a talk you need to register at the latest by 21.12.2
 5. Otherwise registration is possible at any time.\n \nMore questions? Pl
ease do not hesitate to contact us\n\n\nhttps://math-events.uni-bonn.de/ev
