DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Emma Seggewiss (HCM)\, Kanami Ueda\n\nThis workshop
is directed at the participants in the Trimester Program "Advances in Mech
anism Design". It is not possible to apply only for this workshop. \nRese
archers from the HCM\, in particular\, early-career researchers\, are welc
 ome upon request.\nScientific Organizers: \n\nLaura Doval\nAndreas Kleine
r\n\nSpeakers: \n\nAgathe Pernoud (University of Chicago)\nTan Gan (Lon
don School of Economics)\nJan Knoepfle (Queen Mary University)\nNenad Kos

asiliki Skreta (University of Texas at Austin)\nMaren Vairo (University
 of Pennsylvania)\nKai Hao Yang (Yale University)\nFedor Sandomirsky\nIan
Ball (Yale University)\n\nDescription: \nThe workshop brings together res
earch at the intersection of mechanism design and information design. Trad
itionally\, mechanism design studies the design of optimal institutions\,
taking the information structure as given\, whereas information design stu
dies the design of optimal information structures\, within a given institu
tion. Recent applications have highlighted the importance of jointly deter
mining mechanisms together with how information is used by the mechanism (
e.g.\, limited commitment\, aftermarkets\, robust mechanism design) and ho
w the tools of information/mechanism design can be used to answer question
s of mechanism/information design (e.g.\, delegation). The goal of the wor
kshop is to introduce participants to this new frontier of design by showc
asing the latest research in the area.\n\nhttps://math-events.uni-bonn.de/
