Description
One major application of free fields and their conformal blocks is that they give trial many-body wave functions in quantum Hall effect, notably Laughlin states and their generalizations. We will construct Laughlin on compact higher genus surfaces using free fields and also talk about some recent results for integer QHE state on the hyperbolic cylinder, based on work to appear with P. Wiegmann.
